Toddlers
Toddlers
Toddlers’ feet are different from adult feet and even those of older children. The bones are not completely formed so the foot remains soft and vulnerable to damage. One common problem that we see is poorly-fitting shoes, especially ones that have been handed down from an older sibling. Flat feet are common among young children and, in most cases, are nothing to worry about. The arches will normally develop and stabilise by the time the child is 6 or 7. However, if your child is suffering discomfort or pain, then we are happy to do an assessment. As with all medical issues, early treatment is the key.
