Sophia Hennessey

Sophia Hennessy

Principal Podiatrist

Accredited Member of the Australian Podiatry Association

The old saying “you can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl” couldn’t be more apt when describing Soph!

For over 20 years now, Soph has been bestowing this country warmth towards everyone she meets and her love of caring for feet and the ‘souls’ attached to them.

In 2005, Soph decided to ‘go it alone’, establishing The Forest Podiatry.

Soph spent her first 18 years in the North-West on a farm west of Gunnedah, the Koala Capital of Australia! Whilst her first experience with feet was trimming horse hooves and pigs’ trotters, the foundations were laid for a long, loving association with all matters concerning the feet!

Soph has invested in further training in New York City with a leading paediatric podiatry professor, and in France to study the latest in European orthotic technology.

Soph has completed her Advanced Certificate in Acupuncture for treatment of Podiatric conditions, laser therapy for nail disease, and many courses in injection therapy, foot mobilisation and manipulation. Soph is a keen public speaker, regularly giving up her time to present happy feet talks to local groups and community events.

Soph graduated from the Sydney Institute of Technology in 1992. Soph is an Accredited Podiatrist, registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association. Accreditation is your guarantee your podiatrist is keeping up to date with their Podiatric education.
